How I Broke Free of a 20 Year Sex Addiction - And What You Can Do to Help Others! Part 2 - By Matthew Robert Payne
John has some sobering words to say to a person that thinks like I used to
1 John 2:3-4 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
In John's eyes because I am an adulterer and knowingly continue to have no regard for my fellow man and God's Holy Commandments I am considered a liar and the Truth is not even in me.
People argue, "Well you can't say we have to be perfect to get to heaven."
Yet two verses down John tells us how we should be walking on this earth if we are abiding in Jesus like we all say that we are.
1 John 2:6 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. And how did Jesus walk? He was perfect. We have to walk in the Spirit and not walk in the wisdom of our own flesh or else we are under condemnation and we would not know this if we only had a NIV Bible. But the New King James says:
Romans 8:1
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
We have to walk in the Spirit, in other words every single thought has to be taken captive and assessed and acted upon by obeying the Word of God. By letting what the Word of God dictate what we do in every situation we walk in the Spirit and the Bible promises we will overcome the lusts of the flesh.
Galatians 5:16
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
So it is possible not to walk in the flesh and it is possible to conquer sin in our life. We will tell a homosexual that he cannot continue sleeping with men and be a Christian, but if I keep my addiction to prostitutes secret and I think I am going to heaven without very really repenting and turning away from my sin then I am mocking God. For Grace did not come into the world so that a sinner's prayer could separate us from the whole world and let us continue to walk in blatant sin. Grace came to give us power to conquer sin. This is what grace came into the world for.
Titus 2:11-12
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
You have to hate sin. You have to have a really good look at what you are doing and hate sin. You have to get rid of your excuses that say Internet porn is okay, it's free and I am not hurting anyone and come to grips with the fact you are committing Adultery in your heart every time you take a peak at a girl on a computer screen or in a magazine.
Loneliness, rejection, guilt, fear and low self esteem, make us do bad things. All of these things can drive us to sexual sin. But God has healers and prayer counselors and people that are trained to help you work through these issues.
The problem with most people is they keep the sin a secret. On one hand we justify the sin, on the other hand for a week or so or a day or so we are picked on by Satan through massive guilt. And it's this shame and guilt and fear of rejection that keeps us from confessing our sin to a brother and becoming accountable.
The scriptures teach James 5:13-18
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
When a brother goes to another brother and confesses the sin, James says healing will come and it also says that the prayers of a righteous man availeth much, and scripture says when two on earth agree in prayer that it will be done in heaven. How else are you going to have two agree on earth in prayer about your healing, if you don't confess to your brother?
When you are shown clearly that what you are doing is sin. When you are truly cut up before God for doing the sin and you are so sorry that in desperation you beg Him to give you the grace to overcome the temptation and God sees your heart is 100% sorry and you have no intention of practicing that again, well folks the grace comes and you walk free, set free by the blood of the Lamb and you walk in resurrection power that was given to you at the death and resurrection of Jesus.
You see every one of us who are born again can depart from iniquity; the problem with us is we do not love God enough to do it, and we love the sin too much to stop.
I am very happy with the time that has elapsed since my last visit to a sex worker, yet I am very wary of being puffed up with pride, lest I fall again.
If you want to stop the sin that you are a slave to right now, go and confess your sin to your shepherd and an elder and claim your healing.
Remember if you have just had a shower and put on gleaming white clothes and have been washed in the blood that washes white as snow, simply believe that self same sacrifice gives you the power to be cleansed from that sin forever and don't go willfully and get yourself all dirty again.
1 John 1:9 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The scripture above is not a lie. This is not just a sinner's prayer, this is victory over every single sinful habit in our life. God is faithful; He will cleanse us from our habitual sins and everything that is not right in our life. But we have to repent with all our heart, and confess our sin to a brother who can stand with us in prayer.
So repent my brother or sister.

Father take this testimony of mine and the Word of God that I shared and multiply it like the loaves and fishes of that little boy. Father give those stuck in secret sins the courage to confess those sins to their leadership and then bring them to full repentance where they are 100% committed to walking away from that sin. Father give them ministries to go to like "Elijah house ministries" where they can find prayer counselors to work through the roots of bitterness and Unforgiveness in their lives, bitterness they don't even know that is there. Blow on this Holy Spirit and bring healing to countless lives as the readers do all they can to get this message out to every Christian male that they know.
Father heal your church. Have broken men like me begin to share the darkest deepest dirtiest secret sins with their leadership and then find healing and then testify to the whole church of the miracle you have done in their life. Father heal all the broken sexually addicted, masturbating, pornography addicted, homosexuals, and child abusers in your congregations.
Raise up prayer warriors in the church that would commit not to worldly revival but would commit to grown men and women rending their clothes in total surrender to your awesome grace and flooding your altar with tears and begging you to pour out your Spirit in such measure within their church that the people would honestly humble themselves and repent in fasting and prayer so that you can heal their land.
I ask you to move on this article and take this to thousands of churches and let your Holy Spirit convict the people of their self righteousness, their false doctrines and their sins that enslave them. Move on my candid honesty so that men can have pity on the harlots of their town and through love stop seeing them forever. Give the men who are addicted to sex workers your love for the workers and your compassion and when they walk from the services of the sex workers they have seen let them daily lift up those workers they abused before your throne so that you might bring them healing and salvation in the future.
May this message restore proper sexuality to marriages, may you do a work in the lives of the men and women who have exposed themselves to pornography and may you bring healing.
Bring conviction to the child abusers and have them confess their sin to a trusted brother and heal these broken down men that the world seems to have no compassion for and bring restoration between fathers and children that they have abused.
Father work on the hearts of the abused boys and girls, women and men who read this, so that they might have the courage to hand this to the person that abused them in love, so that these men might find liberty and healing.
Work Father, move over the whole world and bring sexual addicted men and women in churches to total restoration. May my testimony of a 20 year addiction that has been broken encourage and inspire others to step out of secrecy and into the Light of your Word and Your ways so that they can heal.
