What does it mean for a wife to submit to her husband as to the Lord in marriage? First, we as believers must all submit ourselves to Christ and lay down our will and seek His glory and His will. Then part of submitting ourselves to Him as wives is to obey His Word for us to submit to our husbands. Submission is part of God's system of order and it is to protect those who are under God-given authority. God's design for marriage is found in Ephesians 5:22-33. (Wives are not to respect sin or submit to their husbands if the husband wants them to violate God's Word!
