Sunset Healing - A Poem

Sunset Healing - A Poem

May you settle upon a sunset,
Let it bring its peace to you,
May you enjoy that peace every bit,
Let it make you feel brand-new.
May your senses be soothed from the glow,
Absorbing the therapy of its rays,
Dreaming, evaluating, even meditating,
Pondering the wonder of your days.
May your eyes rest upon the horizon,
Considering the beauty in its lines,
Peace-lit mood on the heart,
As God gently heals and refines.
May your skin be awash with the breeze,
Massaging a tender embrace,
God touching you with his Presence,
As he opens within you his space.
May you taste upon the sunset,
The reality of its grace,
Allow the cool evening air its passage,
So you can slow to its pace.
May your nose be intrigued by the waft,
Of sea air, flora, and mist,
Let it take in all the aromas,
As God reconfigures your gist.
May your heart be warmed and tranquil,
Gathering the serene light of repose,
Willing to surrender and allow,
More of what God only knows.
God only knows what's going on in our lives, but we may rest content in the knowledge, ventured upon holy trust, that all the days of our lives are in the hands of the Lord of Life itself.
Sunsets are synonymous for the variety of peace all of us can enjoy. No matter the season that we find ourselves in within life, there is always a sunset opportunity. Indeed, when we need the sunset most, there it is, or but hours away.
Sunsets remind us that days finish - all days. The best ones finish as well as the worst ones. We cannot covet the day or banish it prematurely. We have to learn to let go of the best of our days, as well as endure the worst of them.
Life is constantly changing; so are our fortunes.
It is up to us to take hold of the sunset opportunities to remind ourselves that God is God - unchangeable and right - and that God brings to an end all things at their right time. We cannot have more goodness than we are ordained, just as we are freed from the reality of ongoing torment.
Praise God that each day finishes with a sunset.
May your heart be warmed and tranquil,
Gathering the serene light of repose,
Willing to surrender and allow,
More of what God only knows.
