Perfect Match-Maker

Perfect Match-Maker - By Lisa U Maki

We have all dreamed or still dream of a soul mate... that perfect match... that dream guy. Some have probably given up, some continue to believe. There is for sure a perfect match for you and only God knows who he is.
Let me bring you first to a Scripture that proves that there is a perfect match.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his side and closed up the [place with] flesh.
And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
Then Adam said, This [creature] is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of a man. Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh (Genesis 2:21-24).
This first man and woman were God's perfect match for each other. The woman was taken from the man's rib, making her like his clone. This first marriage is the model that God created for all other marriages here on earth. Unfortunately, the devil is in the business of destroying this institution which is why we have unsatisfied couples who believe that they married the wrong person. The devil has also perverted people's minds and made them believe that the power to find their perfect match is in their hands. They jump from one person to the next, hoping to find the right one. And after finding who they thought was the right one, they then realize that it is the wrong one.
How do we even know who is right or wrong for us? This is where the problem begins. The ideal man you have in your mind may just be a fictitious person. Only God knows who the perfect one for you is, and you have to let God do His job in bringing him to you, at the right time.
Now if you're married, it's pointless thinking who the right one for you is. You are married to your husband for that reason. And even if you didn't consult God about him, it's too late for you to reverse it. God allowed you to be with that person. He wants you to be together. What you should do is make the most of your marriage by obeying God's instructions for you as a wife.
So who is the perfect man for you? Who is your perfect match?
One of the first things you have to understand is that God distributed His characteristics in the man and the woman. It is God's desire then, to see the fullness of His character in both the man and the woman when they come together in marriage. This is the process that God works out in every marriage surrendered to Him. He balances out the man and the woman through their individual character traits, and blends these characters together to create one flesh.
Your perfect match may be an angry man because you are a very stable person. This man will need your stability and you will need him to keep you on your toes. Or he may be a very rigid man because you are the happy-go-lucky type of a person. You will need this kind of man to stabilize you and he will need you to keep him out of his rigidity. He may have a problem managing finances because you are good at it. He will need you to help him or you may need him to make you take more risks.
Not because your husband is not who you thought he was means that he is not the perfect match for you. He may be where he is now because God is exposing something in you. He may be healing you from some hurts or teaching you to be more patient and persevering. God surely knows what He is doing and His plans and thoughts of you are for good and not for evil.
Just as there will be no resurrection without death, there will be no perfect match without the problems that go with it. No healing will take place without hurts, and it can get ugly before it gets beautiful.
A perfect match does not happen instantly. It comes as a result of recognizing and trusting that God knows who is best for you, an extreme appreciation of who God gave you, total surrender to God's perfect plan for you, and complete obedience to His instructions for you. Add faith and perseverance to all these and you will see the perfection of your marriage.
