What Does the Bible Say About Modesty? – Bible Verses Regarding Modesty By Godly Woman Daily

One of the top controversial topics among Christian women today is the topic of “ Christian modesty “ and it is an important issue in the practical christian life. Especially for young girls, adorning themselves with modesty protects themselves from unwanted relationships and protect them for the good-intentioned young men (because young men always look for modesty) who are looking for a wonderful young lady to spend the rest of their lives with. Here are some verses regarding modesty,

❤ ❥Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

❤ ❥ “I want women to get in there with the men in humility before God, not primping before a mirror or chasing the latest fashions but doing something beautiful for God and becoming beautiful doing it.” - 1 Timothy 2:9 (MSG)

❤ ❥ “ Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. “ - 1 Peter 3:3-4  (NIV).

❤ ❥ “ I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.”  - 1 Timothy 2:8-10 ( ESV).

❤ ❥In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. - 1 Peter 3:1-4

❤ ❥For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. - 1 John 2:16 ESV

❤ ❥Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, - 1 Peter 5:5-6 ESV

❤ ❥Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. - 2 Timothy 2:22 ( NASB)

❤ ❥So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

❤ ❥The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."  - 1 Samuel 16:7

❤ ❥Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. - Proverbs 31:30 (NLT)

❤ ❥For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,  training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age. - Titus 2:11–12 (ESV).

In conclusion, modesty in all facets of life, whether in actions or clothing or speech , really is a matter of the heart. Most importantly,  Bible says man looks on the outside but God looks at the heart.
