Christian Sex Truth

Christian Sex Truth
by David Lee Martin

Christian sex is not spoken about in many churches. Rather than grasping the truth about Christian sex and intimacy in Christian marriage from the liberating teachings of the Scriptures, many Christians are unfortunately learning about sex from the world, and then finding themselves confused once they are in a romantic relationship.

But what does the Bible really say about sex? In this article we will outline the fundamental teachings from the Bible about Christian sex and intimacy in marriage.

1. Sex was created by God to be enjoyed.
2. Sex was commanded and commended by God right at the very beginning when He told Adam and Eve to multiply and be fruitful. He called this very good! (See Genesis 1 and 2)
3. The Bible does not condemn sex, but does lay guidelines for sexual conduct for our pleasure and protection.
4. Within marriage (never without) sex is encouraged and Christian husband and Christian wife are explicitly encouraged to enjoy Christian sex frequently and without shame or fear.

When we take our lead from the infallible word of God regarding every area of our life and marriage we will discover that Jesus promise that when we know the truth it will make us free is indeed true: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 -- God wants us to be free from confusion regarding sexual intimacy in your marriage so it becomes something beautiful that we enjoy as man and wife. With proper instruction from the Scriptures regarding our relationships, first with God, then with our Christian husband or wife, the realization of the holiness and great gift that Christian sex can be, and how proper sexual conduct within the marriage bed can deeply connect us with our life long partner, will affect our relationship in wonderful and positive ways.
