How To Walk In Faith And Obtain Results -  Ngozi Nwoke

How does one exercise faith and obtain results? Christianity is a walk of faith because the just shall live by faith, (Romans 1:17).

And it is impossible to please or attract God without faith, (Hebrews 11:6). Therefore, it is inevitably important that you learn how to walk in faith if you are to live a victorious christian life.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God - Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God" - Mark 11:22 (NKJV) (as it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations") in the presence of Him whom he believed-God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be." And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform - Romans 4:17-21 (NKJV)

Many people struggle with the issue of walking in faith. I remember desperately asking my husband some years back "how does one exercise faith and obtain results?" You wonder what else to be done, especially when you really need divine intervention.

A walk in faith is acting on God's word: His promises as recorded in the bible and His given rhema. The word of God is the foundation for faith. Without the word of God in you, your faith will not work. It is not enough to know the scriptures, they need to come alive in you. You need to believe that God means what He says and that they will surely work for you.

It all starts with your revelation and understanding of who God is and what He is capable of doing. God is and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, (Hebrews 11:6). God is His word, (John 1:1).God cannot be separated from His word.  He only listens for faith in His word and faith comes only by hearing the word of God.
Therefore, the first thing to do is to be studious of God's word, not just when you are faced with a challenge but as a life style. It is best to equip yourself well long before any challenge comes. Then you must believe it and finally act on it. It is the word of God that you act on that delivers results to you, not just what you believe. This is where people miss it. They believe it but don't take the next step to act according to what they believe. Some start off but quit after a while.

So, how to walk in faith is to have faith in God and His word, and act on His word. It has nothing to do with your strength or ability. It is not by your power or might but by the Spirit of God, (Zechariah 4:6). If you are exacting some form of energy trying to believe, you are not exercising faith. It is "whatever He tells you to do, do it". Faith simply is to believe what God said, act on it and leave the rest to God.

Let's learn from Father Abraham, the father of faith.
For twenty-five years, he believed that God would give him a son from Sarah as He promised and God did it. God's word to Abraham was "so shall your descendants be" when he had no child at all. But he believed it and acted on it. Years past but he held unto it because he knew who promised and that He was able to perform it. His faith was in God and what God said to him. Even when he and Sarah had long passed the child-bearing age, his faith in God and His word was still very strong. This was a perfect walk in faith, the number of waiting years notwithstanding. At the end, his faith delivered his miracle.

The question is," what is God saying to you through His word concerning that situation?"

Your business is to have faith in God and act on what He said, not counting the passing period nor the glaring challenge before you. The Alpha and Omega knows the best time to deliver. He never fails as long as you are standing in faith. The word of God will always prevail over any circumstance. Like Job, wait on God till your change comes, (Job 14:14)
